Edit your default notification options
Your Whispir user profile specifies your default notification options. These settings don’t relate to receiving typical Whispir messages. (If you’re also a contact in any workspace, the default notification options in your contact profile cover that.) Instead they apply to situations where you might receive other types of communications via the Whispir platform (for example, delivery reports for messages you’ve sent, password reset emails, or communications from a specific inbound email/SMS workflow). Decide if you need to be able to receive these types of messages or not.
There are two ways to edit your options:
- You can select your options on the Profile sidebar. This is the quick and easy way.
- You can open the Edit Member Details page (from the Profile sidebar) and select the options. This method also allows you to add or edit additional notification details (such as up to 2 alternative email addresses and phone numbers).
Steps
- Go to the Profile sidebar.
If you can’t see it click the user profile icon on the User Options toolbar at the top of the Whispir window. - Do one of the following:
- Under Alert Options select or clear the Email, SMS and Voice check boxes, as required.
Your changes are saved. That’s all you need to do! - Click Edit profile to open the Edit Member Details page, and now go to Step 3.
- Under Alert Options select or clear the Email, SMS and Voice check boxes, as required.
- Scroll down to the Default Notification Options section.
- Select or clear the Email, SMS and Voice check boxes as required.
- In the field beside each selected check box select the primary contact details to be used.
For example, if you selected the SMS check box and you want to receive system text messages on your work mobile phone, select Work Mobile Phone 1. - If required, also select your secondary and tertiary contact details in the remaining fields. These provide alternative options for receiving system messages if the messages can’t be delivered to the primary phone number or email address.
For example, if a system SMS message is sent to your primary mobile phone number but your phone is switched off, the message will be escalated to your secondary phone number. - Click Save.
Note: You’ll only be able to select an option in the field if the relevant phone number or email address has already been entered in the corresponding field higher up on this page.
